where i am at.

i am constantly keen. sometimes it irritates me to know about some things only partially. itching at me just below the surface of my being. an ectoplasm of potential. i suppose that i would rather know about a whole lot of things partially than only know about a few things really well, as long as i do know about a few things expertly. i'd say knowing about a few things in great depth, and knowing about a whole lot of things partially is just excellent. still i am far from contentment, whether that is somewhere i want to be or anyone can be i don't know. but that might be contentment exactly. like how perfection is only a composition of imperfections according to your idea of what may be perfect. regardless, i'd like to know more about the things i know about only partially. a lot more. expertly so. particularly those things i want to know about that make me ache, which are seemingly endless and always.
some things i heard today that i only knew about partially before make me want to know more about them now, again.
public spaces and public life.
purposefully changing culture (for the better).
just because the car is the core of american culture (in many respects) does not mean that this core aspect of this culture cannot be altered. provide an intriguing alternative or a sultry space and it will be utilized, naturally. as was the case in copenhagen in the early twentieth century, cars served to clog any available space. congest the breath. in 1962 when the decision was made (despite great ambivalence) to designate a very central city-center street (namely strøget) as one for pedestrians only, a real change was ignited that serves to define the city of copenhagen today. and as it goes, in this city today there are more bicycles than cars. 37% of people use a bike while 31% use public transportation to get their body's to their respective work places.
why do we feel that what is custom must remain so? maybe it is natural, sure, but when did the custom ever become the natural convention? can it not be reversed with just as much effort? maybe more consciousness.
more consciousness.

now only if i could find more energy.
